The Washington Ape Cache is turning 20!
To celebrate Cache Advance, Shop Geocaching and the Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA) collaborated to make a special geocoin to celebrate the milestone. Each web shop has their own version(s) of the geocoin.
This is one of our two versions: Antique silver plated with red and gold translucent stained glass-like sections.
The APE cache was placed July 18, 2001 and is found in the rugged, snow-capped Cascade Mountains. Just a short drive from Seattle, cachers can walk through the spooky 2-mile-long Tunnel of Light, find one of the oldest caches in Washington, and visit the the last remaining APE type cache in North America.
